Turn on  2-Step Verification- If already enabled, skip to Setup Your App Password below.

  1. Open your Google Account.
  2. In the navigation panel, select Security.
  3. Under “Signing in to Google,” select 2-Step Verification and then Get started.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps.
  5. Verify it’s you with a second step
  6. After you turn on 2-Step Verification, you must complete a second step to verify it’s you when you sign in. To help protect your account, Google will ask that you complete a specific second step
  7. Once complete, follow the next steps


Setup Your App Password

  1. Go to your Google Account.
  2. Search for "App Passwords".
  3. Click on it. You may need to sign in. If you don’t have this option, it might be because:
    1. 2-Step Verification is not set up for your account.
    2. 2-Step Verification is only set up for security keys.
    3. Your account is through work, school, or other organization.
    4. You turned on Advanced Protection.
  4. At the bottom, choose Select app and choose other and type in ECSand then Select device and choose the device you’re using and then Generate.
  5. The App Password is the 16-character code displayed on the screen. Copy that (Ctrl+V on windows , Command + V on mac) 
  6. In ECS, log in to your system. Go to management, course, and on the right hand side of demographics section and make sure your SMTP settings look like the image below. 
  7. Tap Done.
