Turn on 2-Step Verification- If already enabled, skip to Setup Your App Password below.
- Open your Google Account.
- In the navigation panel, select Security.
- Under “Signing in to Google,” select 2-Step Verification Get started.
- Follow the on-screen steps.
- Verify it’s you with a second step
- After you turn on 2-Step Verification, you must complete a second step to verify it’s you when you sign in. To help protect your account, Google will ask that you complete a specific second step
- Once complete, follow the next steps
Setup Your App Password
- Go to your Google Account.
- Search for "App Passwords".
- Click on it. You may need to sign in. If you don’t have this option, it might be because:
- 2-Step Verification is not set up for your account.
- 2-Step Verification is only set up for security keys.
- Your account is through work, school, or other organization.
- You turned on Advanced Protection.
- At the bottom, choose Select app and choose other and type in ECS Select device and choose the device you’re using Generate.
- The App Password is the 16-character code displayed on the screen. Copy that (Ctrl+V on windows , Command + V on mac)
- In ECS, log in to your system. Go to management, course, and on the right hand side of demographics section and make sure your SMTP settings look like the image below.
- Tap Done.
